Whitlock Looking For Back to Back Victories in New Zealand

Simon Whitlock will be looking for back to back victories when he travels to New Zealand this weekend to compete in the Otahuhu Club Las Vegas Qualifier beginning Friday evening. Whitlock from Brisbane will travel with fellow Queenslander Shane Tichowitsh who is hoping to join Whitlock in Vegas in 7 weeks time for the PDC Las Vegas Desert Classic.

Also making the trip across the Tasman is fellow Queenslander Steve Macarthur who holds a narrow 4 point lead in the Grand Slam of Darts Ranking table over NSW,s Barry Jouannet.

Both Macarthur and Jouannet are 8 points clear of dangerman Arnel Galvez who sits 3rd on the table.Whilst Simon Whitlock is eligible to earn points on the Grand slam of Darts ranking tables his points will be made ineligible at seasons end due to his qualification into the event via his BDO world final appearance back in 2007.

A Large Number of kiwis will be out to rain on the parade of travelling aussies hoping to join the entourage to Vegas including world championship qualifier Warren French who appeared at the Alexandra palace just 5 months ago

The Otahuhu club Auckland will play host to the event beginning Friday evening with the first of 4 qualifiers . Each qualifier format will be decided upon number of entries to each qualifier atleast 30 mins before commencement of play.

It is hoped that atleast 2 qualifiers for this event can be played as round robin as per official advertisement however if numbers exceed 160 players in each qualifier a knockout format will be utilised.
