Thousands to Compete at UK’s Biggest Doubles Tournament

Riley’s Press Release:

Amateur pairs sign up for shot at £10k

More than 1,000 pairs have entered the Harrows Darts UK Doubles Tournament for the chance to take home a share of £10,000, and the title of best amateur doubles team in the UK.

The prize fund is the biggest for any amateur darts tournament.

Regional playoffs will be held at 48 Rileys Darts Zones around the country in April, with one pair per club advancing to the National Final on June 18.

Harrows Darts Sales and Marketing Director Robert Pringle said: “We’re delighted that so many amateur players have entered the Doubles Tournament.

“It shows that darts is thriving at a grass roots level in the UK.

“We wish the best of luck to all participants in Rileys clubs.”

Singles, Over-40s and Team darts tournaments, each with a £10k prize pot, will also be held at Rileys this year.

Rileys Darts Zones have six to eight throwing lanes, championship-quality boards and electronic scoring systems.

Rileys currently have 48 Darts Zones throughout the UK and plan to increase this to 100 by the end of 2011.
