From Ledbury Reporter:
TERRY Jenkins starts his attempt to lift the 2008 Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship on Wednesday (December 19) at Alexandra Palace.
The tournament gets under way on Monday (December 17) but world ranked fourth place Jenkins is not in action with his first round tie until Wednesday when he is scheduled to tackle Kirk Shepherd at 8pm.
Victory in the opening round would see Ledbury ace Jenkins play against the winner of the Mick McGowan versus Jason Barry tie on Boxing Day (Wednesday, December 26), at 6.40pm.
A winning run for Jenkins could see him possibly meet Peter Manley or Colin Lloyd in the quarter-finals on Saturday, December 29, at 1pm.
The semi-finals are scheduled for Sunday, December 30, with the tournament final on New Year’s day at 7.30pm.
This is 44-year-old Jenkins third attempt at the World Championship and follows his most successful season that has seen him reach the final of his first Premier League Darts campaign, and be runner-up in the World Grand Prix, the Las Vegas Desert Classic and the World Matchplay events.
