Mark Webster Sets Sights on WDF World Cup

Denbigh darts ace Mark Webster has helped Wales to international success – and he will have his eye on further global glory soon!

From Denbighshire Free Press:

Last Saturday and Sunday, Wales took on Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland in the Celtic Cup and two comprehensive wins ensured the Welsh dragon was breathing fire at the end.

Mark took the man of the match award against the Republic of Ireland, as he averaged 34.35 in his 3-1 win over Andrew Dempsey.

He had to work a bit harder to beat Northern Ireland’s Michael Blair 3-2, averaging just 25.55.

Now, all eyes will be on the biennial WDF World Cup, which will take place in Rosmalin in the Netherlands from next Wednesday, October 10, until Sunday, October 14.

Clwyd county player Mark, ranked number two in the world this year, is joined in the Welsh team by Wayne Warren (Glamorgan), Martin Phillips (Gwynedd) and Robert Hughes (Pembrokeshire).
