Defending champion Martin Adams reached the quarter-finals of the BDO World Darts Championship following a comfortable 4-0 victory over Martin Phillips on Tuesday night at the Lakeside.
England captain Adams, seeded fourth, needed a deciding leg during each of the first three sets against Welshman Phillips.
The result was sealed as Adams took the fourth set with three consecutive legs to book a last-eight meeting with Scotland’s Robert Thornton.
“There is an expectation on me and you just have to try to do your best,” said England captain Adams.
