England too Strong for Dutch

England defeated Holland in the team competition at the Masters of Darts in Hengelo, with Peter ‘One Dart’ Manley ending the league stage as the only unbeaten player as he sets up a semi-final with new PDC man Mervyn King

Each member of the two five-man teams played each other in the Masters of Darts and England came out way on top as Phil Taylor’s men won 15 matches compared to Holland’s tally of ten.

Dutch captain Raymond van Barneveld ended up finishing top of the Dutch group after closing with a 3-0 victory over Colin Lloyd, with teenage sensation Michael van Gerwen coming second with the same 3-2 record.

The youngster now faces the new world champion in the semi-finals to see who represents Holland in the Masters of Darts final as the competition now turns to personal glory.

Taylor’s recent struggles in the Holsten Premier League continued in the Masters of Darts as he finished bottom of the England group after winning just two of his five matches, including a 3-0 reverse by Barney.
