Dutch trio Jelle Klaasen, Michael van Gerwen and Vincent van der Voort have all followed the path of Raymond van Barneveld in joining the PDC.

All three competed in the BDO World Championship at Lakeside but have now chosen to follow newly-crowned PDC world champion van Barneveld in switching allegiance.
Klaasen became the youngest ever world champion when he won last year’s world title at Frimley Green aged just 21, but has not been able to follow up that success.
Fellow youngster van Gerwen was so impressive when winning the Winmau World Masters last October that he was installed as favourite at the Lakeside despite being just 17.
‘Mighty Mike’ as he is known was beaten in the first round by Gary Robson on his Frimley Green debut, and has now opted to go straight into the PDC.
Van Barneveld’s move paid dividends as he landed a live nine-dart finish in the Premier League before winning the UK Open and claiming a thrilling world title at the Circus Tavern by beating Phil Taylor 7-6.
Klaasen will now also follow his dream of winning both world titles as he joins the PDC, saying that he hopes to prove himself against the best around.
?I have chosen to play for the PDC because they are a more professional organisation with more money and more tournaments,? said Klaasen.
“I am looking forward to playing in Gibraltar and in the other tournaments throughout the year and want to prove myself against the best players in the world.”
