Although his unbeaten Premier League streak has been snapped, and he has been beaten by two of his fellow Unicorn team mates, Phil Taylor says he wants to win as badly as ever and will get it right no matter how long it takes.
He has suffered two surprise defeats in three Premier League matches but Unicorn’s 13 times World Champ is very relaxed about the situation.
Phil Taylor has vowed to “get it right” no matter how long it takes. Armed with his new Unicorn Sigma darts, ‘The Power’ is now putting in hours of practice and he is certain that all the hard work will pay off.
“The new darts feel really good,” he said. “I am very happy with the new shape and the feel of the new barrels and I know the results will follow.”
“I’m not bothered,” said Taylor. “They can say what they want but I know I am not far away.”
He admitted he wasn’t at his best against Jenkins in Manchester but made no excuses. “That’s gone now and I look forward to the next one. It’s all about reaching those play-offs and getting in the top four and I am convinced I will achieve that.”
In week four, the action switches to another new venue – The Ricoh Arena – home of Coventry City and Taylor faces another all Unicorn tussle against Peter Manley, who has never switched off ‘The Power’ on a TV stage.
