Fordham chose to compete in the Turunc Open held in Turkey this past weekend, allowing him to make his return to darts with no distractions that would possibly have been given had he competed in a British or main stream European darting event.

DENIS OVENS won the Ireland Open Classic Players Championship at Castlebar with a 3-0 victory in the final against Colin Osborne. Ovens recorded his first tournament victory since March 2005 with the triumph, also erasing the memory of his loss to Phil Taylor in the Ireland Open Classic final of two years ago.

PHIL TAYLOR suffered only his fourth defeat in a major final in 14 years with a 7-3 defeat to Gary Anderson in the Bullit World Darts Trophy.
