The Wizard Takes Out The Russell Stewart Classic

The Wizard once again showed he is a force to be reckoned with in world darts with a powerhouse display of darts to take out the Russell Stewart Classic in Wollongong on Sunday.
Simon was too good for Broken Hills ” The General Steve Macarthur” defeating him 6-1 in the final in a clinical display of darts.
Whitlocks average in the final was 102.50 over 6 legs which included 3 x 13 darts legs all of which he opened with consecutive 180s
Although the General played well all day to reach the final he was unable to keep up with the wizard and he easily picked up the maximum 10 Grand Prix Points

Simon Whitlock won the Goulburn Workers Club Open today defeating Brian Roach in the final 6 legs to 0
Roaches performance to get to the final was quite outstanding hitting 4 maximums in a very high scoring game with Steve Macarthur that would have seen both players throw well over a 30 Average.
In the other Semi Simon was to Strong for Shane Haddy in the best of 9 game with Shane taking 3 legs from an otherwise invincible Whitlock in warmup for tomorrows all important Grand Prix Event.
Simon had to overcome Stiff opposition in the quarters in a tough game with Barry Jouannet that could have gone either way.once again both players were throwing in excess of a 90 Average.Simon commented he is happy with his form after just returning from Holland and is very much looking forward to tomorrows Grand Prix Event

Waddell Hails Taylor Barney Rivalry

Legendary commentator Sid Waddell has hailed the rivalry between Phil Taylor and Raymond Van Barneveld saying, “Barneveld’s battles with Taylor in the last 15 months have put a flame under our whole sport.”

China Wins DFA southern Highlands Classic

Barry Jouannet was in the winners circle this weekend taking out the DFA’s Southern Highlands Classic. In the Men’s first semi we saw Mitchell Clegg up against Kevin Luland. Kevin took the match 5-3 for a place in the final. The second semi was between Barry Jouannet and Jamie Cotton. China was too strong with a 5-1 win earning him a place against Kevin.

American Audiences Will See Fox Sports Televise LIVE US Darting Event!
According to a PlanetDarts news article, Fox Sports will screen live a five-match dart series between Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, Ray Carver, and John Kuczynski to be held duriong the 2007 PDC US Open. The PDC US Open is scheduled to take place at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut on May 18-20.
