Phil Taylor Defeats Denis Ovens to Win German Darts Championship

Phil Taylor defeated Denis Ovens 4-1 to take victory in the inaugural PartyPoker.net German Darts Championship.

The 13-time World Champion made it four successive victories inside a month with an imperious display in the final, hitting six 180s and averaging over 105.

Taylor claimed two Players Championship wins in Holland during November and then swept aside the field at the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts last week.

Phil Taylor won the inaugural PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts with an 18-11 victory over Andy Hamilton at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

Taylor showed some of his finest form in a brilliant display in the final, crucially taking nine successive legs in the middle of the game to establish a 14-5 lead.

Hamilton, in his first major final, battled superbly against his Stoke rival and hit back to 16-9 at one stage before Taylor sealed the victory.

Leading seeds Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson will meet in the semi-finals of the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts on Saturday afternoon.

The duo, seeded second and third for the tournament, progressed past John Part and Kevin Painter respectively to set up a mouth-watering last four encounter at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

Taylor held off a John Part fightback to prevail 10-7 against the Canadian double World Champion, averaging almost 100 in a strong display.
