Taylor Bounces Back from Anderson Loss to win Final UK Open Qualifier


PHIL TAYLOR won his second Speedy Hire UK Open Qualifier, defeating Colin Osborne 6-3 to claim victory in the last of eight events as players battled to win places in the televised finals in Bolton.

Taylor bounced back from Saturday’s loss to Gary Anderson in the final by claiming the £6,000 first prize 24 hours later at Wigan’s Robin Park Tennis Centre – copying his achievements a fortnight ago in Wigan.

Raymond van Barneveld Defeats Colin Osborne for Quarter-Final Advance


RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD and Vincent van der Voort enjoyed double Dutch delight at the World Darts Championship on Thursday, as 2010 runner-up Simon Whitlock crashed out of the competition.

Five-time World Champion van Barneveld edged a seven-set thriller with Colin Osborne to book his quarter-final place in dramatic fashion at Alexandra Palace.

Osborne led 3-2 before van Barneveld won six of the final seven legs to progress to a last eight contest with Gary Anderson on New Year’s Year.
