Championship League Darts Opening Round Features Wade-Taylor Matchup
PHIL TAYLOR and James Wade will meet in the opening round of the 2009 Championship League Darts next Tuesday.
The fixtures for Group One of the tournament, to be screened solely on the internet via a series of ten bookmakers’ websites, have now been confirmed.
The opening day’s action, starting at 11am on Tuesday September 15, will see eight of the world’s top ten players compete in Group One at Crondon Park GC in Essex.
World Grand Prix Has New Venue

THE 2009 Skybet World Grand Prix will now be staged in the brand new Citywest International Event & Convention Centre – doubling the capacity for October’s event – while the field of 32 competitors is now confirmed.
Dublin’s Citywest Hotel has hosted the World Grand Prix since 2001, with the Sky Sports-televised event being played in the unique format where players need to both begin and end a leg with a double.
One Viking’s Journey, the Andy Fordham Autobiography

Not all Vikings blaze trails into the wilderness of new frontiers. This doesn’t mean that the journey is any easier though, as you can find out in Andy Fordham’s soon to be released autobiography. The scheduled release date is 1st October 2009.
Reflections on the Winmau World Masters

FOR the spectator it was perhaps slightly disappointing that the first semi final wasn’t the game that concluded the championships in Bridlington, with Martin Adams and Tony O’Shea locking horns in a battle of the titans.
It seemed likely that the victor of that match would go onto win the competition, and that proved to be the case. However, the final was a classic which will live long in the memory and definitely provided a good advertisement for the BDO.
Jamie Caven Beats Steve Beaton for Austrian Open Win
JAMIE CAVEN won his second tournament of 2009 with a 6-2 victory over Steve Beaton in the final of Sunday’s Austrian Open Players Championship.
Caven, the Blue Square UK Open Welsh Regional Final winner in May, added a further £6,000 to his ever-improving position in the top 32 of the PDC Order of Merit with a resilient display in Salzburg.
Wolfie Wins Winmau World Masters

MARTIN ‘Wolfie’ ADAMS successfully defended his Winmau World Masters crown with a stunning comeback in the BBC televised 2009 final against his England team-mate Robbie Green.
BBC Extends Contract with BDO to 2013
BBC TV Sport has announced that its exclusive contract with the British Darts Organisation to screen the World Professional Darts Championships is being extended to 2013.
“This is wonderful news for BDO darts, our players and the millions of fans who tune into the BBC’s coverage of our premier darts Championships”, says Olly Croft, Managing Director, BDO Enterprises Ltd.
