Phil Taylor Continues Grand Slam Title Bid with 16-7 Win over O’Shea
PHIL TAYLOR surged past Tony O’Shea 16-7 to set up a semi-final with Raymond van Barneveld at the PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts.
Taylor’s bid for a third successive title at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall continued with his strongest performance of the week.

PHIL TAYLOR set up a clash with BDO number one Tony O’Shea in the quarter-finals of the PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts with a superb comeback against Colin Lloyd on Thursday night.
Taylor, the reigning champion and PDC number one, won seven successive legs with an average of 113 to come from 4-3 down and win 10-3 in his clash with Lloyd.
Reflections on the Winmau World Masters

FOR the spectator it was perhaps slightly disappointing that the first semi final wasn’t the game that concluded the championships in Bridlington, with Martin Adams and Tony O’Shea locking horns in a battle of the titans.
It seemed likely that the victor of that match would go onto win the competition, and that proved to be the case. However, the final was a classic which will live long in the memory and definitely provided a good advertisement for the BDO.
O’Shea Number 1 Seed for Winmau World Masters
England’s TONY O’SHEA, the BDO and WDF No.1, is the No.1 Seed for the 2009 Winmau World Masters after the most successful year of his career.
He sits proudly at No.1 in the BDO Men’s Invitation Table, 32 points clear of his nearest rival and England team-mate Scott Waites, and is also World No.1 in the WDF Ranking table.
BDO International Open Huge Success

The BDO International Open at Pontin’s, Brean Sands was a huge success – with over 300 more people on the popular Somerset park than in the previous year and a feast of great darts – men, women and youth – over three days.
The weather was warm and sunny for the second event in the Fire Kills BDO International Grand Prix Series, the highlight of which was a repeat of the 2009 Lakeside World Professional final between Tony O’Shea and Ted Hankey.

Tony O’Shea walked away with victory in a 4-0 decisive final matchup with Ted Hankey, while Trina Gulliver pulled out a win over Irina Armstong by 3-2.
