WAYNE JONES took arguably the biggest win of his career with a 10-8 defeat of Raymond van Barneveld as he reached the semi-finals of the PartyPoker.net European Championship.
The Wolverhampton man will now meet Colin Lloyd in the last four in Dinslaken, having held his nerve to knock out the five-time World Champion and number two seed.

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD came close to one of darts’ greatest ever upsets before defeating Germany’s Bernd Roith 10-7 in the PartyPoker.net European Championship second round on Saturday, while Phil Taylor remains in the hunt for a third successive title in Dinslaken.
Roith, a caterer from Tuebingen in Germany who overcame Denis Ovens in the first round on his televised debut, set up the prospect of an incredible victory over the world number two when finishes of 101 and 141 helped him into a 7-5 lead.

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD edged out Andy Hamilton in an 11-leg thriller at the PartyPoker.net European Championship on Friday night, but seeds James Wade and Adrian Lewis crashed out of the event in Dinslaken, Germany.
Dutch star van Barneveld followed up last week’s run to the final of the World Matchplay in Blackpool with a gritty display in his opener in Dinslaken.

PHIL TAYLOR claimed his 11th StanJames.com World Matchplay title with an 18-12 win over Raymond van Barneveld at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Sunday night.
Taylor picked up his third successive Blackpool win and a £100,000 cheque with a thrilling performance to see off the Dutchman, who played his part in a superb final.

Barneveld and Taylor Move to Semis

PHIL TAYLOR cruised into the semi-finals of the StanJames.com World Matchplay with a 16-4 defeat of Kevin Painter on Friday night, while Raymond van Barneveld ended his quarter-final hoodoo at the Winter Gardens.
Taylor, the reigning and ten-time World Matchplay champion, rarely broke sweat in a clinical demolition of Painter, who was restricted to only four legs and few more chances at a double.
Barneveld Defeats Co Stompe 16-12
Barney moves into the semi-final round with a 16-12 win over Dutch opponent Co Stompe. No shame for Stompe at the loss though as this was a back and forth battle from the beginning with both darters jockeying for the lead throughout the match.

Barney Trounces Tabern in Blackpool

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD’S brilliant start to the StanJames.com World Matchplay continued with a 13-5 demolition of Alan Tabern at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
The Dutch star hit a nine-darter in Saturday’s first round win over Denis Ovens, and produced a clinical performance to see off left-hander Tabern with an average of almost 104.
Barneveld Bags Nine Darter in Blackpool!

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD produced another piece of history with a sensational nine-darter at the StanJames.com World Matchplay on Saturday night.
The Dutchman fired in a perfect leg during his 10-1 victory over Denis Ovens on the opening night of the £400,000 tournament – emulating Phil Taylor’s achievement in landing the event’s only previous nine-dart finish in 2002.
Van Barneveld has enjoyed a two-month break from darts since the end of the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts in May – an event which also featured a nine-dart finish from the Dutchman.
