Phil Taylor maintained his position at the top of the Whyte and Mackay Premier League following an impressive 8-2 win over Dutch rival Raymond Van Barneveld at the Westpoint Arena in Exeter on Thursday evening.
`The Power` went 2-0 down after struggling to get a foothold on the game, and perhaps should have lost the third leg too, but Barneveld missed the bull and Taylor cleaned up to reduce the deficit. He took the remaining three legs before the break to go 4-2 up, and then rounded off proceedings by clinching every leg after returning to the stage to maintain his unbeaten run.

Adrian Lewis produced a darting masterclass on Thursday evening to overcome five times World Champion Raymond Van Barneveld 8-3 to record his first win in the 2010 Whyte and Mackay Premier League in Bournemouth.
Lewis, from Stoke-on-Trent, was at one stage recording a three dart average of 113.5 over the former Postman, and at the break it seemed possible he would record a whitewash as he walked off stage for the commercial break 6-0 up.

Martin Adams has clinched his second BDO World Darts Championship title after a thrilling 7-5 win over Dave Chisnall at the Lakeside.
`Wolfie` was pushed all the way by the underdog and he really had to dig deep and use his vast experience to overcome the man who beat Ted Hankey and Tony O’Shea to reach his first World Final.

by Phill Catterick:
Never have I looked forward to the semi finals of a Darts World Championship so much; with four different nations being represented and three previous title winners still in the frame, it makes for some very exciting play.
The likes of Mervyn King, James Wade, John Part, Gary Anderson and Wayne Mardle may have all fallen at earlier hurdles, but as we reach the latter stages I am genuinely excited by what’s coming up.

Phil Taylor clinched a third straight Grand Slam of Darts Championship on Sunday evening after obliterating Scott Waites 16-2 in the final at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.
`The Power`, who has been in sensational form during the tournament was relentless in his pursuit of yet another televised competition, and Waites was left wondering what might have been, although he did collect £50,000 for his troubles.

Some people said including women in the Grand Slam of Darts was a pointless exercise. Others said they just weren’t good enough to deserve their place in the competition.
Admittedly I used to be one of them.
