Taylor, sporting shaved lightning strikes in his hair, turned up the power in Blackpool with a sensational performance, averaging 109.47 and hitting 68 percent of his doubles.

Both Colin Osborne and Phil Taylor won their matches with a decisive victory, with Osborne defeating Kevin Painter 10-7, and with Taylor winning over Ronnie Baxter 10-6.
Painter was disappointed after having reached his first UK Open Semi as he never recovered from an early 5-1 lead by Osborne.
Taylor also survived a comeback scare from Ronnie Baxter as he saw his early 6-0 lead disappear as Baxter took 6 out of the next 7 to bring the gap to one.
UK Open Quarter Finals Gives Kevin Painter First Semi-Final Bid
KEVIN PAINTER reached his first Blue Square UK Open semi-final with a battling 10-8 win over Alan Tabern.
Painter’s strong weekend at the Reebok Stadium continued as he proved too strong for the 2006 semi-finalist, with a mid-game burst to go 8-5 up proving key.
Tabern led 3-1 early on, defying a 124 checkout from Painter in leg two to secure the game’s first break in the fourth with a two-dart 78.
