Darryl Fitton Outwits the Wizard as Whitlock is defeated 4-2
The almost hour long matchup saw the two darters throwing a combined 16 maximums, and included an 11 dart and two 12 dart legs.

The “Wizard of Oz†conjured up 12-darter to take the opening set 3-0, Fitton having just one dart for a double in the second leg.
Both players hit maximums in the opening leg of the second set but it was Fitton with the throwing advantage who recovered from missing double 18 for a 141 out shot to finish with his fourth attempt for double 18.
He added the next on double 12, taking the throw from the Aussie and then fired in his second maximum en-route to clinching the set 3-0 on double tops after just 15 minutes of play.
Whitlock then took the third set to lead the match 2-1, but Fitton came back to level it on the next set at 2-2.
The fifth set saw Fitton take a 2-0 leg lead, but the Wizard fired back with an 11 dart leg of his own. Fitton was undaunted however and took the next leg and the set, and a 3-2 lead in the match.
The first four legs of the final set saw both darters taking a leg with the throw, but Fitton threw his ninth 180 of the match to take the victory.
