Phil Taylor Wins 14th PDC World Championship Title

Phil Taylor recaptured his crown with an unprecedented 14th World Championship title win over Raymond van Barneveld.

Phil left no question as to his superiority in the match giving Barneveld only one set in the match.

Taylor gained sweet revenge over the Dutchman who won the title two years earlier, beating The Power in what was a memorable final match.

Taylor rushed out to take a two set lead over Barneveld, but Barneveld battled back to win the third, and what would be his only set in the match.

Taylor again focused, and took the next five sets in succession as the pressure continued to visibly take hold of Barneveld as he missed darts and doubles, and could not stand up to the pressure of the Power.

A brilliant shooter and a great competitor, congrats, he is the best shooter in history. The sport needs more real time television broadcasts to the United States. The only way the sport can recover to it’s stature from the 1980’s is make people see what a great sport we play.

I agree whole-heartedly on all points David. Hopefully things are slowly going that way, with more and more big draw tournaments being held in the US, even though they can only be seen on televisions abroad. Maybe one day soon people will see the attraction to it and realize there are profits to be made in Darts….then we’ll have more of it than we can shake a stick at, heh heh.
