Dennis Priestley is Roaring Down the Road to Revovery
Dennis Priestley sent a message to the darting world during the PDC US Open: He is back and ready for action. On his way to a final matchup with Phil Taylor, Priestley was victorious over Kevin Czipo, Donny Joe, Michael van Gerwin, Andy Jenkins, and Mark Dudbridge.
South Yorkshire Times:
From the article:
The Mexborough Menace beat Kevin Czipo 3-0 in the first round, Donny Joe 3-1 in the second before narrow 3-2 victories over Dutch wonderkid Michael van Gerwin and Andy Jenkins in the third and fourth rounds respectively.
Priestley’s final 16 battle with Adrian Gray found him dropping just one leg, which Gray won in the first leg of the match. Missed doubles in the second set by both darters finally resulted in Priestley landed double two to take the set.
The articles goes on to say:
He landed another maximum on his way to opening a two-set lead, before superb checkouts of 124 on double eight and 122 on the bullseye set up a clash with ‘Flash’ Mark Dudbridge in the quarter finals.
Dudbridge spoke beforehand about how Priestley was his darting hero growing up and the Mexborough native demonstrated why he receives such adulation as he produced a quality performance to overwhelm his opponent.
