Taylor, Priestly, Manley, and Jenkins through to Dublin semi-finals

In what Sky Sports called a “clinical” dart performance, Phil Taylor soundly defeated Roland Scholten 4-0. The Dutchman reportedly was suffering with a neck problem, but played through the pain despite the lopsided loss.

“I knew he wasn’t right and it’s your instinct to pounce on him as quickly as you can,” remarked the victorios Taylor. “Fair play to him though, he didn’t roll over. If Roland had been his normal self, I think you would have seen a cracking game tonight.”

Taylor will next face Dennis Priestly, who defeated James Wade 4-2 to earn his spot in the semis. Priestly won the match, but admitted that his game wasn’t up to his normal level.

“I must admit it was a struggle tonight, a real struggle. I battled hard and I think I deserved to win because of my fighting spirit.”

The second half of today’s draw saw Peter “One Dart” Manley winning over his opponent Andy “The Pie Man” Smith with a 4-1 Margin. Manley started the game by winning six of the 8 opening legs, but Smith started to nibble back on Manley’s lead, but it was too little too late. This will be Manley’s trip to the Dublin Semi Finals.

The last match of the evening saw Terry Jenkins put out the fire that had been burning in Bob “Limestone Cowboy” throughout the tournament, winning their match 4 sets to 1. The 58 year old darts veteran won the opening set with an outstanding 110 check out, but soon started missing the mark.

Jenkins took advantage of Anderson’s opening, and took seven consecutive legs to seize control of the match. This was Jenkins first ever Major television semi-final.

The semi-final match up will be the best of 11 sets and will be:

Peter Manley v Terry Jenkins
Phil Taylor v Dennis Priestley

The action will be live on Sky Sports 2 starting at 7PM UTC.
