The 22-year-old Geordie, who now lives in Northamptonshire, produced the display of his life to send the number four seed packing.
McDine averaged almost 106 and took seven of the final eight legs to set up a quarter-final against Jelle Klaasen on Thursday, after the Dutchman had earlier edged out Australian Pat Orreal 10-9.
“It was absolutely brilliant,” said McDine. “I can’t believe, it’s the best average I’ve ever had in a professional game and to do it against James is sensational.
“He’s third in the world and one of the best players in the world. Beating him 10-7 is awesome and who knows how far I can go now?
“I’ve never played so well over 17 legs and hopefully I can keep it up against Jelle.”
Wade admitted: “He took every chance he had and deserved to win.
“Kevin played better than me on the night, I missed a few silly shots and I’m seething with myself.
“I didn’t play as I have been playing and if Kevin carries on like that then he will do very well.”
