Fitton Feeling Good About World Masters But Won’t Rule Out PDC Move.
From Stock Port Express:
DARRYL ?the Dazzler? Fitton will head up to Bridlington this weekend in confident mood as he prepares a tilt at the prestigious Winmau World Masters tournament.
Stockport star Fitton is seeded number six for the tournament, which is set to receive plenty of coverage on BBC television throughout Saturday and Sunday.
The World Masters is one of the biggest events on the British Darts Organisation?s calender, with ?60,000 worth of prize money on offer. The winner of the men?s tournament will pick up a whopping ?25,000, and the runner-up ?10,000.
Fitton said: “I feel really good at the moment. Although I?ve not travelled to as many tournaments this year I have been playing well, and I?ve picked up plenty of ranking points.
“I?m still doing lots of exhibitions too. Playing in games like that helps keep you in good form.
“I?ve not had the best of luck in the World Masters in recent years, but it is up to me to try and earn some more luck, maybe it?ll come this weekend.”
Meanwhile, Fitton still won?t rule out a potential future switch to Barry Hearn?s rival Professional Darts Corporation, which features higher tournament prize monies and the likes of Phil ?the Power? Taylor and former BDO world favourites Raymond van Barneveld, Mervyn King and Jelle Klaasen.
Fitton said: “When I watch the PDC tournaments on TV the darts is good, so I am still debating what to do.
