King Treated like Pauper at Sheffield Arena

Gary Miller-Cheevers with Mervyn King
Boo Down to the King!
Following Darts legend Mervyn King’s tense 7-7 tie with Ronnie Baxter last night at The Sheffield Arena where King was booed throughout the half hour match, support has been pledged from one of his sponsors.
Gary Miller-Cheevers, Chief Executive of payday loans company Speed-e-loans.com was there last night to cheer on ‘The King’. He says: “As a proud shirt sponsor of Mervyn King, it was a real pity to see the treatment he got from the crowd in Sheffield last night. I was a bit shocked by the lack of respect shown to such a top player, but I’m sure that knowing Mervyn’s strong character, he will weather the storm and let his darts do the talking.”
Mervyn commented that he was angry with the crowd: “And so would anyone if they’d suffered the lack of respect I have for 30 minutes. I thought Sheffield was a good darting county but I’ve been treated disgracefully.”
Gary Miller-Cheevers added that while everyone expects a bit of banter at darts matches, it was unacceptable to boo Mervyn constantly and particularly whilst he was throwing. He added that “he is one of the game’s top men and deserves much better than being booed with every throw.”
Speed-e-loans also sponsor Adrian ‘Jackpot’ Lewis who is also playing at the Premier League Darts Tournament.
