Double Dutch in World Grand Prix First Round

World champion van Barneveld has followed up by taking the UK Open and Las Vegas Desert Classic this year, and he starts his pursuit of the Grand Prix title against fellow Dutchman Vincent van der Voort, in a repeat of June’s final in Bolton.

Colin Lloyd, the 2004 World Grand Prix champion, takes part in the tie of the round as the former world number one has been drawn to face Dennis ‘The Menace’ Priestley.

Dutchman Roland Scholten goes up against Kevin Painter in another big-name tie, while the ever-improving Colin Osborne makes his Dublin debut against Chris Mason.

Four Irish qualifiers have been handed typically tough draws, with Billy Matthews playing former world champion John Part, while John Elder faces Mervyn King, Jason Barry plays Andy Jenkins and James Keogh goes up against Adrian Lewis.
