Young Gun Daryl Gurney Ready for Six Nations Darts Tournament
All Ireland Darts Champion Daryl Gurney is recovered from an injury to his hand is ready to get back to the oche and will be chunking the arrows at this weekend’s Six Nations Darts Tournament.
The tournament will take place at the Hastings Everglades Hotel, and will see players from England, Holland, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and Wales do battle and the 21 year old Gurney can’t wait for the competition to begin.
“It’s a home tournament and there is already some buzz,” he said.
“Playing in a major competition in my home town is great and I can’t wait.”
Gurney has already tested his recovering hand at the Scottish Open, won this year by Tony O’Shea. Gurney lost a narrow match to former BDO Champion Martin Adams in a semi-final match.
“I hurt my hand after the World Championships and the Scottish Open was the first competition I threw at; I felt I did alright but lost to Martin again, this time at the semi-final stage.
“Thankfully now my hand is fine and that’s why I played the competition in Scotland to make sure I’ll be right for this weekend.”
