So far the most comprehensive win was todays James Wade’s 10-1 demolition of Denis Ovens in the opening match.
Taylor protege Adrian Lewis was also kicked to the curb by Andy Hamilton with a 15-13 victory. This was a very dramatic match with the lead changing many times before Hamilton’s final three leg push to victory.
Phil Taylor met an “off form” John Part and won the match 13-2 to move into the quarter-final matches. Part knocked Taylor out of this tournament last year in the last eight stage, and tonnight Taylor returned the favor.
